Lack luster effort results in lopsided loss
What could have been a statement to the other teams that we are a team to not take lightly turned out to be a headscratcher as our players just didn't show up to play. I find it puzzling that with the talent we have and the core we have that we still are putting forth a performance like last night.

With that being said and my nerves somewhat back in order there was some positives that we can take from last night. There was a 4 or 5 minute span last night that we were in control of the game and had the first place team running around in their own end and unable to clear it, in that span I personally counted 6 shots on net which means we only had 7 shots on net in 25 minutes cause total shots on net were 13 (hopefully that adds up, I ran out of fingers and too cold to take my socks off). I have always told my players winning is not the real goal in doing something, if you're going to do something anything from sports to academics from working to just being a good person give everything you have and leave it all on the table no excuses and no remorse that way when you look in the mirror every morning you can smile and know I'm being the best I can be. There were some golden performances last night despite the effort put forth, and the first one was from #9 soft paws, a little history on Gavin, I coached Gavin last year and he truly is a coaches dream, he gives you everything he has every single practice and every shift he takes on and accepts every task handed to him. Last year in the first game of the playoffs he blocked a shot that fractured his foot, and would you believe that he didn't go down he fought through the pain cleared the puck out and skated to the bench. I asked Gavin to play D this week and I knew that he would accept the challenge. He is one of those few players that you just can't help but cheer for. Everytime I go to speak to him about something after a shift he is just gassed breathing heavily cause he left it all on the ice every single time.
Another standout last night was #97 Ozzy, I personally believe Shane has all the tools and natural talent to be a top ten player at Chedoke and he showed us why last night as he played his best game so far this year as I've always said points don't tell the whole story. Last night Ozzy didn't get a goal he didn't even get an assist but what he did get was tons of attention from the Rangers team cause Ozzy was for the first time this year completely into the game showcasing his speed his hands forechecking and yes even backchecking, for the first time this season Ozzy displayed the real player he is and even taking a penalty, now I know that sounds silly but what led to the penalty is what's important Ozzy was stripped of the puck going into their zone and got angry and chased the player down into our end causing the turn over now they called it hooking I don't know about that but I do know that he didn't give up on the play on his teammates or more importantly himself.
Last but definitely not least ur player of the game..
#6 Jack Fabrizio who played his best game of the year so far, Jack played with confidence and an energy we haven't seen. Jack was a force at both ends of the ice and hopefully we can see that determination from here on out
