Dates

Registration for the 2022/23 season will open for online payments only starting March 15.

General

We offer a hockey program in five non-contact House League divisions and, where numbers warrant, non-contact Select teams.

Registrations will be accepted as space permits. Registration numbers are regulated by the Hamilton Minor Hockey Council. Parents are encouraged to register early to ensure placement and to assist the league with preparing evaluations, rosters and uniforms.

Players new to Chedoke Minor Hockey must submit a copy of a birth certificate. These should be emailed to [email protected].

Players transferring to Chedoke from another league may be asked to submit a Residential Move Form. Our Registrar will contact you if this is required.

OHF Player Development Model

Starting in the 2018/19 season, a new  Novice (U9) program guided by the OHF's Player Development Model (PDM) was introduced. Shared ice, multi-station practices and modified ice games are key components of the PDM for U9 players and younger. You can read more about the PDM HERE.

Cost

The registration fee for 2022/23 is $355 for U9, $455 for U11 to U15, and $500 for U18. new.jpg

In March and April, families have the option of paying on an installment payment plan. The payment plan is available for online registrations only.

The payment plan consists of a first payment of 50% upon registration, followed by 2 equal payments of 25% charged to your credit card on the 15th of May and June.

Age Groups

Registration is based on a player's year of birth. For the 2022/23 season, the age groups are:

Year of birth Division
2014-2015 U9
2012-2013 U11
2010-2011 U13
2008-2009 U15
2005-2007 U18

U7 players (born 2016-2018)
The Hamilton Minor Hockey Council offers a city-wide hockey initiation program for this age group. Regardless of ability, all players in this age group must register in this program.

Exceptional players will be identified through an evaluation process and may be offered the opportunity to move up to a U9 division at one of the Recreational House Leagues. Any RHL will not accept registrations from players in this age group without the approval of the Initiation Program.

More information can be found on the Hamilton Initiation Program web site or by emailing [email protected].

U21 players (born 2002-2004)
The Hamilton Minor Hockey Council offers a city-wide program for this age group.

There will be 2 games per week, late Sunday and Monday nights. The season starts in October and ends with Super Saturday in March.

The program is administered by the Hamilton Minor Hockey Council.

Goalies

In an effort to track goalie registrations, please register as a goalie using the Goalie Registration tabs by age group. Goalie positions will be shared if registrations exceed the number of teams in a division.

Respect in Sport - Parent Course

One parent/guardian of each player born in 2004 or later must complete this online course. It must be completed before November 1 or we will be unable to roster your player to a team. For more information and the course link, please see the Parents menu option.

Payment Information

All online payments are done via credit card.

Occasionally, in-person registrations are accepted on pre-determined dates. Such dates will be communicated in advance. For any in-person payments, please make cheques payable to "Chedoke Minor Hockey League". Cheques must be dated on the date of registration. We do not accept post-dated cheques. Any NSF payments will result in an additional fee of $15. We do not accept cash payments.

Sorry, we are unable to provide any subsidies. Subsidies may be available from the following organizations. Families are responsible for researching and applying for these, and must provide written confirmation of the subsidy amount, at the time of registration.
