Thank you to all of our parents for their patience and for working with us throughout this very challenging year.

We started planning on needed changes throughout the summer, which seems so long ago, with an ever-changing set of guidelines to provide you with a season of hockey, while maintaining safety-first programming and doing our utmost to keep players on the ice.

Congratulations and THANKS to all our coaches, trainers and volunteers for providing our players with a safe and fun environment; a place to come and enjoy the game we love, even in its modified form.

Walter Gretzky died Thursday March 4 at the age of 82 after a nine-year battle with Parkinson's disease.

Gretzky raised and coached his son, Wayne, considered by many to be the greatest NHL player of all time.

"Everything I am is because of him. It's as simple as that," Wayne said in a 1996 CBC interview.

But it was the elder Gretzky's dedication to minor hockey and charities and his friendly demeanour for which he became so well-known to many Canadians.  Canada's most beloved hockey dad left a legacy beyond the rink.

Hamilton is scheduled to enter the Red Zone on Tuesday.

Therefore, we will be able to return to the ice but with a reduced schedule, participant limits and restrictions on types of on-ice activity.

A short survey has been emailed to all Chedoke families so that we can evaluate our interest level and transition as quickly as possible.

Thank you.

UPDATED: January 19

Like you, we are anxious to get back on the ice, but with Ontario still in a lock-down, this is not possible.

We are hopeful that when the current lock-down is scheduled to end on February 19, hockey will be able to return.

We will share any updates on our web site as soon as possible.

Chedoke families can either choose to wait until a decision is made or request a refund now.

If you would like to request a refund, please email your player's full name and age group to Jeff Reynolds at
[email protected].

Thank you for your patience during these difficult times.
