All volunteer candidates must adhere to the screening policies of our governing bodies, the OHF and HMHC.

Volunteer candidates not in a position of authority and trust with children may be exempt from the policy depending on their responsibilities.

If you live in Hamilton, you can visit this site for information on how to complete a police check:
https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/how-to/obtain-criminal-records-check

If you are not a citizen of Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Dundas, Ancaster, Flamborough or Glanbrook, you will need to obtain a screening check from the police service in whose jurisdiction you reside.

The policy does not apply to volunteers under the age of 18 as of December 31 of the current season.

All costs incurred by volunteer candidates adhering to the policy are covered 100%.

All volunteers requiring action on the policy are required to have completed or started the process no later than November 15.

The Board holds all eligibility requirements surrounding “a volunteer” and has final say on any decision on the policy.
