Dominating performance for much needed win.
I've been coaching for a few years now and writing the game reports for the last 2 years, I've watched alot of hockey and been around the game for 40 years and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that what #22 Cap did tonight was quite possibly the single most dominant performance I have ever witnessed.
The Knights came off an easy victory vs coronation last week and feeling confident but the Predators are not coronation and we realized that right from the start with #8 Agostino scoring his first of the year and first of the game. #22 Cap put us up by 2 late in the first with a big onetimer from a beautiful pass from #34 who was wearing#76( cause he forgot his Jersey but if Dad asks if he has everything I'm nagging)and the Knights were in total control. Some soft clearing attempts in our end and some cherry picking led to the predators making it 2-1 but in dying seconds of the first #8 Agostino potted his second and gave us back the 2 goal lead. The second period started great with#22 Cap getting his second early. We basically controlled every aspect of the game till the 3 min mark of the second where our egos got in the way of our efforts as the predators got one back to make it 4-2. Cap must of seen the writing on the wall but didn't like the story cause just 1 minute later he got his trick (3rd goal) and again gave us our 3 goal lead. But the Predators were not going softly into the night they scored 2 goals in 20 seconds to make the score 5-4 and a coach who is scratching his head (actually just running my fingers through my hair, no comments from the peanut gallery) what the heck just happened. At this point I started to think we we're going to hand the game to them after completely dominating them. But any momentum they had was brought to a hault when Cap flew out of the phone booth cape and all and set up a beautiful goal along with #19 Pazzy to #71 Evan. Second period over 6-4 Knights. #34 Seba made an end to end rush and scored a pretty goal deking the goalie and making it 7-4. But just incase general Zod had any ideas of coming back Cap Kent A.K.A Superman scored 2 more goals making it 9-4 and sending the predators away in that mirror thingy. #97 Shane Osborne ( without the U) played his best game all year realizing that Cap was on fire offensively Shane did his best of to not get caught up ice and instead covered for Cap and backchecked with a vengeance. I can go on about how everyone did their jobs and highlight all the great plays but let's be honest and give credit where credit is due, 5 goals 1 assist and countless opportunities and defensive gems. That I will end this game report here and award the player the game to #22 Matt "Cap" Underwood..
