Raffaele Shows Why He's a Number 1 Goalie
The Flyers were finally able to hold a lead from start to finish and come away with a much needed two points in no small part to our goaltending. Raffaele who has played fantastic in his rookie season was once again a stud between the pipes.

The game started with a feeling out process that lasted the whole first period with both goalies turning away what little chances both teams had. But the second period was different the Flyers changed gears and started to press the Bruins causing more than a few giveaways that we just couldn't capitalize on. With that pressure came our first goal two minutes into the second as scoring leader #87 Jordan put us in familiar territory with a lead. From there the Flyers got into some penalty trouble (sketchy calls from a notoriously sketchy reff) and we found ourselves on the wrong end of a minute and a half five on three. #34 Seba took  the first half of that penalty kill and did a fantastic job of keeping the Bruins to the outside and forcing them to rush their passes many of which didn't find the mark and the Bruins had to regroup. The defensemen were stellar in keeping the Bruins away from our keeper making any shot from the outside visible for Raff. #71 Jacob killed the second half of the Bruins powerplay picking up where Seba left off giving the Bruins nothing but trouble and the Flyers came away unscathed. As the Flyers were back to full strength the Bruins seemed to gain some momentum and scoring chances started to come their way, breakaways two on ones and point blank shots peppered the Flyers netminder but nothing could get by him (similar to a sumo wrestler at a buffet). The third period started where the second left off with the Bruins pressing hard but being turned away time and time again by the marvelous backchecking forwards or the Freddy Anderson'esc play of Raff. Midway through the third with their gas tank empty and their gameplan out the window the Flyers took over with #19 Pazzy putting us ahead 2-1 with a sweet little feed coming from #87 Jordan. Veteran D-man #81 Cavarzan was an absolute horse tonight logging huge minutes playing against the Bruins top line and giving them nothing but headaches. One last press from the Bruins was expelled when #34 Seba picked the D-mans pocket and turned the jets on causing a turbulence similar to coach Bruce after Taco Bell night (that's for the Montreal text) and went in all alone and went upstairs glove side finally getting the monkey off his back and giving the Flyers the much dreaded 3-1 lead. This time the Flyers didn't take the foot off the gas pinning the Bruins on their side of the ice for the last two minutes. Well done boys and now you realize that you can hold a lead when you play thirty minutes of hockey....
