Regular season begins with a win
As Danny Davito said in the classic film Twins "mess with me mess with my whole family". The Flyers were just that a family as they are not going to let anyone take liberties with any of their teammates. In a short period of time they have bonded and they seem excited about the upcoming season.

The Flyers opened the regular season at home against a tough Senators team with an all star goalie and feisty forwards. But with the the new signing of forward #91 Boden Kennedy who's speed and vision brought a new weapon to the arsenal the Flyers were able to get some shots on the net finally and the results showed on the scoreboard. The Senators goalie literally had to stand on his head numerous times to stop what was surely going to be a blowout. Not to be outdone was our stopper supreme #29 Phil "THE THRILL" Hogan who once again made the hardest position look easy. The first period was a back and forth battle with quality chances at both ends but nothing to show for it. With 15 seconds left in the first # 34 Seba stole the puck from the opposing D at our blue line and literally put the jets on and went in on a breakaway from our side of the red line as Seba told me after" the turtle head touched cotton" but he didn't show it as he went bar down short side to give the Flyers a 1-0  lead. The second period was very much the same as the first as chances were there for both teams but the keepers were awesome. Midway through the second the Senators finally solved #29 Rocky Balboa with a seeing eye goal to tie it up at 1-1. Shortly after that the Senators scored a fluke goal as a Senators player took a shot and #29 Floyd Mayweather made a great save but the rebound went off another Senators skate and into the net. At this point the game got really chippy as one player on the Senators started a scuffle with Flyers D-man #24 Matt "seriously" Underwood and Matt who can handle himself just fine was punched 3 times as the reff was trying to separate them Matt who did not want to hit the reff by mistake simply swatted they opposing player like an irritating fly at that point #29 Joe Frazier came in and face washed the opposing player and #13 Mike Tyson put an end to it all by showing a close up of his new gloves. Already shorthanded the reff decided that we deserved 2 minors and the Senators only 1  so the Flyers had to kill a 5 on 3 for over a minute, which they did without a good shot on net. The third period was more of a cool down period as both teams wanted to stay out of the box but again the Flyers were short handed from a questionable call and #13 Jordan was able to tie it up at 2. And with just a minute and a half to go #22 Rylan " money"  White buried the winner off a sweet pass from #87 Patrick Young. The Flyers showed grit determination and character in over coming the set backs in Mondays game. Due to the lack of natural defencemen on the team forwards will be all taking a turn throughout the season and Monday night #19 Liam "Lindstrom" Pasinato played back and looked brilliant making heads up passes and never getting cought out of position it is a true testament to the coaches he's had the last 3 years and I guess to some extent his God givin talent. #16 Matt "waterbug" was once again up for the challenge as he was all over the ice. #71 Luca and #7 Taran along with #88 were instrumental in the Flyers victory as no team can win a war unless every player wins their own battles (damn that actually sounded pretty good). #4 Dylan "slick" Diehl was unstoppable on the rush except for the fact that the puck seemed to bounce every time he had it, it reminded me of the days when you'd let your street hockey stick widdle to a toothpick and the tennis ball would always hop over it..

Monday night hockey's 3 stars

3rd star #91 Boden Kennedy
2nd star #24 Matt Underwood
1st star #22 Rylan White
