Exceptional team effort
After an absolutely awful performance last week the Coaches were wondering on if the Flyers were able to put that behind them. Games like last week happen to every team but what's most important what separates the best from the rest is how they respond.

And respond they did putting together the best team effort of the season. Every Flyer player gave their all on a night it was so deeply needed. Every player seemed to have something to prove, every player was playing a team game and the scoreboard showed the result. In fact 6 of the 7 goals the Flyers scored had an assist that's a team effort. It's always a spirited game when we play the Stars and Sunday night was no exception with both teams playing hard and physical. There was no feeling out process as both teams early opportunities to open the scoring but the goalies were on top of their games. But seven minutes into the first #19 Pazzy who  played his best game of the season (unfortunately his number one fan May was absent and her cheers were surely missed) set up #13Jordan with a great pass and Jordan who has been having a rough time finding the net finally got the monkey off his back as he beat the Stars goalie high glove. Exactly a minute later and still on the ice Pazzy did some hard work in the corners and got it to #71Luca who slipped a nice pass to the point where #24 Matt took two strides and went bar down to put the Flyers ahead 2-1 after the first.
The second didn't start off the way we hoped as the Stars tied it up two minutes in on a great shot that Philly had no chance just a beautiful goal, but again how would the Flyers respond? Well instead of hanging heads and finger pointing they answered back thirty seconds later #71Luca feeding Pazzy who found #34Seba at the side of the net and he put the Flyers ahead 3-2. The Stars got it back with 47 seconds left in the second but again thirty seconds after that #24Matt pinched in and took the puck around the net and found #34Seba in the slot and he one-timed it off the post and in to regain the lead going into the 3rd.
And the 3rd period started how the 2nd ended with just 23 seconds in #16Matt after all the hard work buried one to put the Flyers up by two with assists going to #24Matt and #34Seba. And 16 seconds later #16Matt notched his second of the night off a beautiful pass from #91Boden. With a commanding lead the Flyers let off the gas and it showed as some players thought the game was over and stopped working and back-checking. It was hard to watch as some of those players are our leaders and everyone knows you lead by example not by your lips. The Stars got one back on a flukie play to make the score 6-4 (I'm a poet). With five minutes left #91Boden intercepted a pass at our blue line and split the Stars defense and made a great deke to end the scoring and put the game out of reach 7-4. There was a couple of brew-haha's in the game but I will not be putting any that into the game summaries as some might think I am endorsing it.
