Heart of a Lion
Three games in and the Flyers still have yet to ice a full team, due to the flu bug or prior engagement and also a contract holdout the Flyers are busting their butts trying to stay in the mix. Dealing with Luca Cifani's agent has been trying as the Flyers GM has been getting no response similar tactics used by his other client William Nylander.

Once again the Flyers were short benched in a much needed game. Without veteran D-man #7 Taran Soblewski and forward #9 Mitchell Court the bench was left to dig down deep not to mention our #1 goalie Philip Mattaliano who missed the game with a lower body injury but should be good to go tonight. So with only two lines  and a forward who was asked to drop back and play D and minor league call up Andrew Goetz between the pipes the game had all the signs of being a blow out considering the Jets have been on a tear and our definitely favorites to be in super Saturday due to the stacked house. The first period was a write off right from the start as the Jets size was a bit much for the much smaller Flyers as we struggled to find our game and 2 goals midway through the first only killed what spirit we had. Second period was basically a lot of the same thing as the Jets were using their size and experience to lean on the smaller younger Flyers, with a few body checks not being called and some interference going unnoticed the Flyers were getting a little frustrated a fluke late goal at the end of the second put the Flyers down 3-0 going into the third. At this point in the game you can see the gas running out of the tank and frustration building an early goal by the Jets should have cemented the blowout. (cue the Rocky theme song) 20 seconds after the Jets fourth goal #4 Dylan Diehl went end to end with what can only be described as poetry in motion as he turned 5 Jets players inside out and went upstairs to break the goose egg ("you see Rock you cut him he's not a machine he's a man" ) that goal seemed to stun the Jets and put them on their toes. As the Flyers took over the game with what speed they had left they just couldn't capitalize on their chances as shot after shot missed the net. The Jets starting to get frustrated with the speed and finesse of the Flyers began getting more physical not dirty but physical as the Flyers got their second wind. A little old  time hockey was on display as Pazzy who was molested all game snapped and started a little brew haha resulting in a 2 plus 10. Now with a shorter bench it seemed like a done deal but the heart of the Flyers should not be questioned as they still kept going and at 2 minutes left #24 Matt made an end to end rush potting in his own rebound and making 4-2. (Rocky music a little louder now) With a little more hop in our stride and starting to out work the Jets, Coach Rodger decided to pull the goalie and see if we could pull it off but too little too late (I didn't say which Rocky movie I was talking about) as a short benched called up goalie Flyers lost 4-2 to the stacked Jets team.
