Jeff is excited to return for his 5th season on the Select bench at Chedoke after having held several Head Coach positions in previous years in House and Rep.
Jeff says an essential element of the 2017/18 season will be COMMITTMENT from players, parents and coaches. Furthermore, player maturity, respect for all and hard work will be core behaviours to drive overall team success.
Jeff guarantees a well-run, fun team with many opportunities for the players to develop on and off the ice. On the ice, players can expect to learn to play as a team using a variety of well-practiced skills and strategies in all three zones including solid goaltending. Off the ice, players will have fitness and social time together.
Jeff’s season plan includes four tournaments including our own Winter Classic at Christmas and the year-end Alliance Championships, which always remains the ultimate Championship goal.
Team goals include a winning record for a 5th consecutive season, out-shooting and out-scoring the opposition over the course of the season, keeping our penalty minutes down, dominating in the face-off circle and out-working the other team game-in and game-out. Plus, at all times, maintaining a positive, team-first attitude.
A successful Select season relies on the contributions of many and prospective Select families all will be looked to for help.
Jeff is an avid runner and promotes a healthy lifestyle. Coaching hockey, cheering for the Leafs, camping and golfing are favourites. He is married with three boys, two of whom play hockey at Chedoke.
