NHL/NHLPA First Shift returning to Chedoke
Chedoke Minor Hockey is pleased to announce that we have been approved to host a First Shift Program in 2024/25

in conjunction with Bauer Canada, the NHL and the NHLPA, the First Shift program was designed to introduce children between the ages of 6 and 10 to the game of Hockey.

Chedoke Minor Hockey has been approved to host a FALL program, with a cap at 30 participants.  Of the 30 spots, 9 have been reserved for girls in our program.

The cost of First Shift for the 2024/25 season is $299.00 Cdn.  You get the following for this fee:

1.  Full equipment from helmets to skates from Bauer Canada.
2.  Six 1 hour on-ice sessions available for all players to learn the basic skills of hockey.  If you are a non-skater, or experienced, all are welcome in our program.
3.  Following the 6 sessions, Chedoke Minor Hockey will offer a Transition Program, which will included a continued emphasis on learning the skills of the game.   There will be an additional cost for the Transition Program, and it will be based on the number of weeks the program will take place over.
4.  All First Shift participants will be invited back to Chedoke for our Super Saturday celebration in March, which will include an official graduation ceremony from First Shift to minor hockey.

If you have any questions about First Shift, feel free to reach out to our program Administrator, Dwayne Sterling, at [email protected]

Registration for our First Shift program will start on Monday, June 3rd at 12 noon on the First Shift website (www.firstshift.ca).  Last year the spots for boys filled within a few hours of registration opening so if you are interested, make sure you are on the First Shift website early.  A waiting list will be created for those who did not secure a spot in the program.  We will use the waiting list to fill program spots within the last 30 days prior to the welcome event.

Last year, Chedoke's First Shift program was a huge success, and we are looking forward to continued success this season.
