Thank you to everyone

On behalf of the entire executive of the Chedoke Minor Hockey League, I wanted to thank you all for being a part of the 2022/23 House League and Select Seasons.

As President of Chedoke Minor Hockey, I just wanted to say a few words as the 2022/23 season came to a close on Super Saturday:

2022/23 marked our first full season post-covid at Chedoke Minor Hockey.

We experienced some growing pains this year at Chedoke, with both positives and negatives happening as we continue our return from a global pandemic.

We were fortunate enough to bring back our U9 division this season, and we are hoping that all players enjoyed their experience in U9 and will return to help us continue to grow our program in the future.

2022/23 also saw the launch of the Hamilton Mustangs.  The Mustangs were created as a development based select program for players to play U12, U14 and U16 on a city-wide basis.  In our first season, the U16 Mustangs held a city-wide tryout, and players from 4 different associations made the team.  Congrats to Coach Tom and all the players on the Mustangs, and good luck at Provincials.

The Chedoke Winter Classic returned for the first time since 2019.  We are very happy with the number of teams that participated and look forward to returning in 2023.

To our U9, U14, U15 and U18 Express Select teams, we wish you good luck at the 2023 Ailiance Provincial Select Championships this weekend in Brantford, ON.

For all our players who are graduating from Chedoke House League, I want to thank all of you for your years of playing and being a part of Chedoke Minor Hockey.  For those who will remain in Hamilton, the city wide U21 division will be returning next season.  Registration is now open, and details about U21 house league hockey are available on the Hamilton Minor Hockey Council's website.

Registration is now open for the 2023/24 season.  You can go to the registration link at the top of the page, and click on register online for all the details and prices for the 2023/24 seasons.

Starting in 2023/24 Chedoke Minor Hockey will be providing a skills development program for all players in U9, U11 and U13.  This program will be run in conjunction with Velenosi Power Skating.  U9 players will receive 10 development sessions from October to December, and U11 and U13 will receive 5 each during the same time frames.  You will be asked to sign up to participate in the skills sessions, and each session will be limited to 25 skaters on-ice.  Dates and times to follow as we work out the details.

In addition, Chedoke will also be offering goaltender training through either Grainger or On Ice goalie schools.  Goalies can sign up for their training sessions, and Chedoke Minor Hockey will refund 50% of your cost for goalie school, to a maximum of $200 for the upcoming season.

In closing, i wanted to personally thank all the parents, coaches, trainers, on-ice helpers and the numerous other volunteers who made the 2022/23 season successful at Chedoke.  We are always looking for new volunteers to help here at Chedoke, and if you have any questions or comments, you can email me through the link on the contact page to discuss.
