The Hamilton Hockey Community has lost a great volunteer and supporter of minor hockey.
Daryl was only 59 when he passed away suddenly but peacefully on Saturday March 25.
At a time when the game he loved so much was being celebrated across the city in the many rinks in which Daryl has had a profound and positive impact, the news of his passing spread with shock and deep sadness.
Daryl has been a cornerstone at Lawfield Minor Hockey for 20 years currently serving as the league’s President. Daryl was also the Director of the six Recreational Hockey Leagues in Hamilton and was the coordinator of the annual City Playdowns tournament; an event which is currently underway with heavy hearts. It is an understatement to say he leaves big skates to fill.
Daryl was a huge Tiger-Cat fan and a long-time season ticket holder enjoying every game (and pre-game) rain or shine with his close friends Tony Carden and Ray Bucci.
Daryl was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 31 years Patricia and leaves behind a son Nick, and an entire hockey community that will miss him deeply.
