TOURNAMENT OF FRIENDS
CHEDOKE ATOM EXPRESS CHAMPIONS
This weekend Chedoke Atom Express travelled to Brantford to participate in their first tournament of the 2017/18 season.
Chedoke came out strong beating Jordan 8-2, Heartland 7-2, and Brantford 99'ers 7-2 capturing top seed through preliminary play.
"We set out 3 goals for this weekend" Coach Jeff said "1. Finish top seed 2. Win the Semi-finals 3. Win the tournament"
Chedoke would face Heartland once more for the Semi-finals. Chedoke came out firing scoring in the first 12 seconds and never looking back taking the game 5-2.
Chedoke was off to the Finals against Coronation, who Chedoke beat earlier in the month 5-2. The game started off back and forth for the first period until late in the second where Chedoke broke the zero tie. Chedoke would add 2 more taking the Tournament of Friends with a 3-0 victory.
"This win is a big one for us. Starting off with a tournament win this early in the season brings the team together and gives them the confidence they need to carry through to the next one" Coach Jeff stated in the post game interview.
Chedoke will be displaying the banner and team photo in the showcase at Chedoke.
