Not the way we wanted to start the New Year
As I. I'm sure you've all seen we were missing a very important part of our defensive core #22 Matt Underwood AKA Cap, he has a fractured clavicle and is out 4 to 6 weeks. With that being said I'm confident in our men to step up to the challenge we all know Cap is irreplaceable but we can fill the void with the players we have.

And fill the void we did not as we lost battle's missed assignments and left #1Andrew out to dry. We seemed to forget that our safety net was not there and fell behind 3-0 after the first. The 2nd period was much better as we seemed to find our legs and started to play some puck. The defense led by stellar performance's from #16 Matt and #55 Zack who both brought their games to another level. Up front we started to control the flow of the game and with some great cycling of the puck #71 Evan found #28 Luke alone in the money spot and Luke put us on the board and brought the game to 3-1. As the Stars were on there heels for some reason we let them off the hook and stopped doing what we do best skating. The Stars made it 4-1 with a cheesy goal and that seemed to take the wind out of our sails. #34 Seba and I have been talking all week about him playing back and help try and fill the void, he hasn't played D in 4 years but played steady and actually got a few shots from the point unfortunately they were no where near the net. #19 Pazzy made a rush midway through the 3rd gaining the blueline and dropped a sweet pass to Seba who picked the corner (by accident I'm sure) and all of sudden we're back in the game 4-2 BRAVOOOO. But to little to late as the Stars played it safe and shut us down from there on out. I think with the loss of Cap and superfans Jim and May the void was to much all at once and a great lesson was learned. I'm confident that we can bounce back and get back to where we were before the break.
Player of the game
#28 Luke Lehman who played with a new found passion that was refreshing to see by far his best game so far and I'm completely confident in Luke stepping up and being the leader we as the coaching staff see he should be.
